Charles Beeby enlisted on the 2nd September 1914. He was discharged due illness (heart disease) on the 13th November 1917, aged 23. His Medal Index Card (copy supplied) shows that he landed in France on the 5th January 1915 and his entitlement to a 1914-15 Star trio.

Interestingly, the medals were applied for in April 1920, by his mother, 'in respect of the services of her late son". It's possible that his death was related to his War service.
